Our school reflects the inclusive nature of the love of God by reflecting and celebrating the diversity of the community. India is a pluralistic country segregated based on caste, religion, wealth, physical ability, age, geography. This mixture brings a richness of perspectives, talent, and ideas. Education matters because it provides the building blocks for life now and into the future. This is not about reading, writing, numbers, and the like. Its also about the inculcating values and develop potentials to become the person they have the capacity to be.
I congratulate all the students, parents, teachers who are the partners of the great service.
Rt. Rev. Dr. Thomas Mar Theethos Episcopa
“Minds are like parachutes, they only function when they are open”. James Dewar
Mar Thoma church is a church with a strong vision and dream about a better world. There are many ways to fulfill this vision. The most important medium is education. Church runs many educational institutions all over India among all the strata of people. It is a part of the mission of the church. Church shows the love of God to the world by giving good education and guiding people to a better world. Church helps a person to open the parachute of his/her life.
Education helps a person to realize his/her own talents and others. The first thing that strikes me about education is knowledge gain. Education gives us knowledge of the world around us and changes it into something better. It develops in us a perspective of looking at life. It helps us build opinions and have points of view on things in life. Education is the only thing that gives knowledge? Some say education is the process of gaining information about the surrounding world while knowledge is something very different. They are right. But information cannot be converted into knowledge without education. Education makes us capable of interpreting things, among other things. It is not just about lessons in textbooks. It is about the lessons of life.
St Thomas school has an important role to play in the education and growth of children. School gives importance to all the curricular and extracurricular activities. We trust in the talents of children. We believe that all our children with the help of good education will reach the heights in their life. Be the part of meaningful education.
Rev. Varghese Mathew
St. Thomas school uniquely operates with high standards, and a complex set of factors, sharing beliefs and priorities that drive the thinking and action of all the stakeholders. The school aspires to provide quality education by staying focused on the best practices that it follows thereby, enabling teaching fraternity and school leadership teams to support the vision and mission of the organization.
We believe that the capacity to learn from others is fundamental to human intelligence. Ideas are not transported ready-made into students' minds instead, new ideas emerge through collaboration, reasoning, analyzing, and interacting with social and physical world. Understanding that nothing can be achieved without a deep investigation and designing a concrete plan of action, the school has set clear goals, performance targets, and suitable system of measurement of the progress of students.
St. Thomas school strongly believes that learning is not about memorizing facts but is about being mindful and using imagination and creativity to learn about what works best for each student. Following the ICSE curriculum, the school strives to groom every student to become critical thinkers and confident learners. Peer, parents, and teachers contribute to the process of learning. Appropriately qualified, trained, and passionate professional teachers provide the platform build on learning to know, to do, to live together, and to be. The school also organizes many events and extracurricular activities, provided to showcase their talent. Students are encouraged to participate in Inter-School Activities which builds up their confidence.
